After the
crew Happy Hour’d at Burbank’s Wokcano, we moseyed Northwest on San
Fernando Blvd. to visit work pal Miss P’s local
Thai spot, Chadaka Thai. Miss P had only visited Chadaka for lunch and
carry-out dinner before and highly recommended the quality of food. Luckily,
Chadaka delivered on the Happy Hour front too!
Having dined
inside at Wokcano, we opted for a table on the small patio at Chadaka, enjoying
the people-watching views on the boulevard and trying to decide what we might
want from the great Happy Hour food and drink menu.
4 Tasty Mojito's and a Full Moon!
Five must be
the magic number on the Chadaka HH menu. While the fun selection of beers
(Tsingtao, Tiger Beer, Singha, and more) was $3, most of the Appetizers and all
of the other Drinks (broken down into Martinis, Champagne Drinks, Specialty
Drinks, Well Cocktails, and Glass of Wine) were $5. For cocktails, we tried
several of their mojitos – original, raspberry, and mango, and Miss P ordered
the Full Moon with Blue Curacao, orange juice, and champagne. The drinks were
all quite tasty and so was the phenomenal food, of which we tried the:
Bangkok Steak - $6
I really
loved that 3 of the appetizers we ordered were vegetarian – the Spring Rolls
had Tofu in them, the Thai Eggrolls had vegetables and vermicelli, and the
Fried Tofu and Taro (Taro is like potato of the tropics :) was served with a
delicious peanut sauce. Kudos to Chadaka for incorporating so many veggie
dishes into the Happy Hour menu!
By the time
we left Chadaka, we were stuffed from our mini-Happy Hour Tour, but even in my
stuffed state, I was thinking about my next visit to Chadaka and what I’d want
to eat and drink then!!
