It came as a minor shock as I sat down to write this review – that neither JG or I had ever been to a Wokcano restaurant before my Burbank Mini-Happy Hour Tour on a Saturday afternoon in March. And I guess I’m surprised because I totally love small chain restaurants – still kind of mom & pop, but with a well-crafted and crowd-pleasing menu. And while sushi isn’t my favorite cuisine, I’m always able to find something delectable at sushi Happy Hours.
Wokcano continued that winning streak with a phenomenal Happy Hour featuring a food menu broken down into Appetizers (from $2.99-$6.99), Sushi and Sashimi (from $3-$7.99), and Sushi Rolls (from $3.99-$6.99). On top of that, Wokcano features menu items from The Backhouse – its neighbor and sister restaurant offering open-fire cooking known as Yakitori with affordable small plates and skewers.
Our Happy Hour Tour Group
I was visiting Wokcano with a group of 6 and those small groups make for the most fun Happy Hours in that you can sample even more food choices! Ordering from mostly the Wokcano Happy Hour menu, we shared the:
Crab Wontons - $2.99
For drinks, Wokcano offers $3 Sake Bombs, Draft Beers, and Well Drinks and $4 House Red and White Wines. Pretty sweet pricing on the drinks – especially from 3-7pm Daily, but if you read this site often enough, you know JG and I also like when bars feature at least one of their signature cocktails at Happy Hour pricing. Wish Wokcano would have done the same, though I did enjoy my $3 Blue Moon!
All in all, a fun Happy Hour to visit and definitely one to make a dinner out of!!
