Since starting The Happy Hour Tour, LA has become new, exciting, and full of adventures again, just like it was when I first moved here. Instead of hitting up one of my regular happy hours,
The Belmont, production pal Jim & I went across the street to one of their sister restaurants, The Spanish Kitchen.

Every time I’ve passed Spanish Kitchen, it appeared to be poppin’ off. However, not so much on a Sunday afternoon after the LA Marathon. Despite the lack of happening scene, Jim & I still had a
great time. We talk plenty, but we were in need of some good face time since we hadn’t laid eyes on each other since our time in New Zealand.

We sipped on the $5 house margaritas, which were just average for me. It seemed like something was missing. Whether it was tequila or the mix, I’m not quite sure, but it did the trick anyway.

Although the drinks were just ok, food is where it’s at for this happy hour! All appetizers are
$5. No select menu here – 12 appetizers total! We debated ordering a couple things, but since we were quickly filling up on the complimentary chips & salsa, we only ordered one dish, the shrimp cerviche. It much more flavorful than my margarita.

Worth noting: if you can’t make it to happy hour, it’s very likely you can catch a drink special anyway. The centerpieces and chalkboards advertised other drink specials at different days and times. The Spanish Kitchen’s website could definitely use a calendar with all that information, especially since happy hour was not even listed on it.
