Daily, 5pm - close happy hour!, $7 specialty cocktails and wines by the glass, $4 beers, Lotsa-appetizers Hail, Hail La Petit Chaya!
Chaya Beverly Hills knows what's up when it comes to Happy Hours by evidence of their revolutionary breakthrough in Happy Hour technology, Le Petit Chaya (formerly known as Industry Hour). Le Petit Chaya (LPC) is basically a happy hour mini-restaurant within the larger restaurant - smaller portioned food items, better priced drinks - and open all night to us segment producers and non-profit coordinators while (Big Papi) Chaya (BPC) services our exec producers and managing directors bosses (really, JG ran into her big-time boss, who was leaving BPC).
LPC is served from 5 pm to close daily at the bar, lounge, and patio only and features four specialty cocktails like the Guava Collins (Chaya’s take on the classic Tom Collins) and Sweet Lychee Martini and wines by the glass at $7 and beers for $4. A wide selection of LPC appetizers are offered, from the traditional pomme frites ($5) and calamari for ($7) to French Goat Cheese and Honey Lavendar GelĂ©e ($7) and Carmelized Onion and Chorizo Cheese Fondue ($6).
We tried a host of items; JB ordered the Moroccan Garbonzo Beans & Pearl Couscous/Organic Yoghurt and no, not just to impress her bootcamp trainer (hi Dulcie!) who suggested a happy hour meet-up before a get-your-free-drink art reception (who knew these existed?!) on Roberston Blvd. The garbanzo beans came from the BPC menu, which you're welcome to order from in the LPC dining areas.
According to our waitress, LPC was created in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Chaya chain, known for their French-Japanese fusion cuisine. And what a way to celebrate?! Tasty, fancy food stuffs and drinks in a high class sit-down restaurant minus the higher prices and stuffiness of an actual sit-down dinner. Don't get us wrong, we love sit-down dinners too, but as purveyors of Happy Hour, frou-frou appetizers and yummy drinks do us just fine!
Chaya is also celebrating their 25th anniversary with a special evening featuring pre-fixe menu this Sunday, October 25th (7-10 pm). Proceeds will benefit culinary arts education and ticket price includes dinner, wine/beer; entertainment by Lucent Dossier, featuring Japanese Taiko Drummers, Aerial Acts, DJ, and more! Buy $25.00 tickets at any CHAYA Restaurant or via email at tickets@thechaya.com.
And while the party sounds great, please note that the special pre fixe $25 dinner lasts through the end of October! Aye Papi!
