Sunset Strip standard the Mondrian Hotel is home to the chi-chi Skybar and chi-chi Asia de Cuba Restaurant, both featuring great drinks and eats at Sunset Strip-level chi-chi prices. So it’s with pleasure that we can recommend an in-house happy hour for fans of the chi-chi life!

The new Asia de Cuba bar in the hotel lobby* now features a 5-7 pm daily “Recess is On” happy hour special with half price cocktails, wine by the glass, and a fun tapas menu, featuring popular sushi rolls and surf & turf sliders. Fancy cocktails and tapas items run in the $7-10 range. We’ve sampled the tasty and sweet Hourglass Martini, Lychee Martini, and Blackberry Batida. What’s not to love about the joint – with its fancy nouveau-retro orange and white décor complete with space age waitresses in mod-white dresses, headbands, and go-go boots? Well, the prices are on the mid-high side for a happy hour and most likely you won’t love the Sunset Strip parking sitch. However, if you’re already out for a night on the town and are looking for something a little more swank than Red Rocks’ 26 beer choices and a little less fancy than Sunset Tower’s non-happy hour prices – you might find ACDB’s “Recess Is On” special just what the doctor ordered.And if your doctor is prescribing happy hour, please leave his/her # in the comment box, along with your own reviews of ACDB’s happy hour.
